Who We Are
Hammond Wildflower Trail at the Tourne County Park in Boonton.
Our members are active and participate in many committees throughout the year. We have included a list of those committees at the bottom of the page. We are a group of unique individuals who have come together for many reasons. We thought you would enjoy reading about those reasons and the uniqueness of each member who is included here.
"From the first meeting I attended many years ago, fellow members opened my eyes to the beauty that surrounds us. For example, I learned that the early spring blooming tree along our wood edges is called the Shadbush because the blooming time coincides with the shad running in the Hudson River. That's a pretty neat bit of information." - Diane
"I enjoy being in the company of green-minded folks." - Jeanne
"I enjoy learning about plants and gardens." - Mary Lou
"I am a new member and I have enjoyed all the meetings and the 'digging in the dirt' activities; and meeting so many friendly and helpful gardeners." - Virginia
"I've been a member of this special club since 1974. You just keep learning about the earth with very special people. I just LOVE it." - Onnolee
"I joined to gain the wisdom of those who have come before." - Lee
"Since I joined the Garden Club, I have gained a deeper appreciation for nature around us. I have learned so much about plants and flowers that I look at my own backyard with different eyes and a greater understanding." - Dudy
"Being new to the area, I was seeking people who enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities. I found a wonderful group of individuals who welcomed me warmly." - Karen
